Chrysocolla

I LOOOOOOOOVE Chrysocolla!
Copper is responsible for the deep, rich cyan blues that make this gemstone so desirable.
gemselect.com is one of the most valuable resources I've found anywhere. I am constantly checking in with this page to learn more about found treasures. Tips for Removing and Preventing Tarnish

I spend many weekends hanging out in thrift and antique stores looking at jewelry and other items.  The number one thing I've noticed over , is that people discard their jewelry as soon as it becomes tarnished. Tarnish is both easy to remove, and easily preventable.
To prevent tarnish, store your jewelry in a clean, dry space away from moisture. Throw a silica gel packet into a ziploc bag  along with your favorite pieces, and you're good to go.
To remove tarnish on your favorite fashion jewelry pieces, a tooth brush and toothpaste will do the trick! Your items will return to like new condition, it's really remarkable. Make certain you dry your pieces thoroughly and immediately!
For sterling silver items, use a polishing cloth. There are many available on amazon.com and on etsy.com. James Avery carries a really nice one for only $3.00. Make certain you do not use the sterling polishing cloth on your fashion jewelry, as it will frequently remove the finish along with the tarnish!

Welcome

I make, buy and now sell vintage and handmade jewelry.

I found my start making jewelry through Girl Scouts many years ago. Friendship bracelets made of string led to beading, which led to wire, (learning metals), etc. This adventurous venture will enable me to combine my love of creativity and commerce.

Friends and family serve as inspiration- I make pieces to fit the style, tastes and unique personalities of each of my loved ones.

I divine inspiration from color, nature, literature, music and personality.

Collections are named for people I love:

Sherri (my Mom): is a little bohemian, and a lover of silver. Sundance catalog meets Carole King.

Julie (my sister): loves fashion and the latest trends, turquoise, the 80's, turquoise, matched sets, turquoise, movie quotes and turquoise. She's an Ann Taylor girl, but there's a little comic book lover in her too. Converse and donner of nerd glasses. Star Wars, The Breakfast Club, My Fair Lady; her favorite book is Alice in Wonderland.

Holli (my sister in law): loves copper, the color red and textiles. A talented and skilled craftsman herself, tremendous skill and uniqueness are required. Brilliant and beautiful, she is a lover of art and all things handmade.

Bonnie (my Grandmother): there never was a lady more elegant and stylish. Grace Kelly meets Michelle Obama. She enjoys antiques. Her favorite color is blue.

Stacie (me): loves all of those things, plus novelty, humor and kitsch. My favorite activity is treasure hunting in thrift and antique shops. I love to find broken, discarded things to repair and restore. Music and literary inspired pieces, science and nature, travel/maps make my heart sing! Wanderlust. Flowers. Sharks.

Are you a Julie, a Sherri, Holli or Bonnie? Or would you prefer to commission a piece that is uniquely you? (send me ideas: your favorite outfit, favorite color, images that inspire you. We can work together to turn your wildest dreams into reality*.)

*skills permitting ;)

I enjoy the process of creating and scavenging lost treasures. I hope you find something here that you will cherish.

Thank you for stopping by!
